[I] LIME SLAKER CUM-CLASSIFIER

Rising film evaporator body has got distinct advantage over conventional body, of having higher heat transfer coefficient and low retention. These bodies can be very well used for thin juices. These can be used as vapour cell and 1st body. Due to high velocity of jiuces, scale formation is minimised.

Due to above advantages of rising film bodies it is possible to have Double Effect Vapour Cell comprising both bodies rising film type. By increasing pressure in the first body to 1 kg + temperature difference is increased and this is distributed in two bodies. Maximum 40 to 45% in juice is achieved in Double Effect Vapour Cell and the load on quadruple is decreased. Thus vapours going to the Condenser are considerably reduced, giving steam economy of 3 to 4% on Cane. At present this is the cheapest source of energy saving at the evaporation level. In the single effect vapour cell, maximum evaporation that can be taken is around 22%. Major evaporation is done at quadruple while in Double Effect Vapour Cell, maximum evaporation is done at Vapour Cell level and lower in quadruple.

Rising Film Evaporator should be an ideal choice for Vapour Cell / 1 Body for the the conventional systems or for various steam saving schemes or for increased Evapotator capacities over the existing arrangement. However, the requirement has to be tailor made and varies from case to case depending upto the existing systems. Semi-kestners are available from 700 m2 H.S. to 1400 m2 H.S. and actual heating surface can be worked-out taking into consideration the existing system.
